Covenant Relationship with Missionaries

Williamsburg United Methodist Church is in a covenant relationship with four missionaries: in Oklahoma, Russia, Republic of the Congo, and Cambodia. Through the General Board of Global Missions, Our church supports each one with a donation of $2500 annually. In addition to financial support, we hold these missionaries in prayer, correspond with them, and establish relationships with them.

Other Mission Support

In addition to the covenant missionaries, WUMC provides support for the Paplaka Methodist Church in Latvia, White Medical Mission in Haiti, Carolina Honduras Health Foundation in Honduras, Hope Center in Latvia, Hastings United Methodist Church in Sierra Leone, and the Boklaoan Philippine Mission. Through the Initiatives of Hope our church joins God’s Mission in Brazil, Mozambique, and Russia. We provide annual support for the Jeremiah Project which allows middle school age youth to have the opportunity for hands-on mission work. Recently we have begun regular support for prison ministry within Virginia. Each year we support the effort of United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) by packaging health, birthing, school, layette, and sewing kits.

Through our Lenten and Advent Offerings, we provide one-time assistance for international or national relief efforts, for special projects, or for needs of our covenant missionaries.
