Churchwide Fellowship Breakfast

April 12, 2025 8:00am

Cost: $10.00

Contact: John Tressler

Join us for an enlightening morning of fellowship, food, and conversation at our monthly Churchwide Fellowship Breakfast! Hosted by United Methodist Men.

Our guest speaker, Jim Griffin, will explore a critical environmental topic impacting our local community. Jim, a retired environmental scientist and current Trustee at Williamsburg United Methodist Church, brings extensive expertise from his 18 years as a senior scientist for county and state governments in Florida and his tenure as an educator at the University of South Florida. He holds a Ph.D. from the Florida Institute of Technology and an M.S. from the Naval Postgraduate School. Jim also served our country as a naval flight officer for 22 years, retiring from the Navy in 1991.

Jim’s presentation, "The Disappearing Islands of the Chesapeake Bay – What Does it Mean for Hampton Roads?", draws from his popular courses taught through the OSHER Lifelong Learning program at William & Mary. Attendees will discover why more than 400 islands have vanished from the Chesapeake Bay, what this signals for our region’s future, and how communities in Virginia are responding to these environmental challenges.

  • Cost: $10 per person

  • RSVP: By April 10th to secure your seat

We also warmly invite attendees to support the Harbour Scholarship Fund and other impactful ministries supported by United Methodist Men through optional donations.

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn, share, and grow together. We look forward to seeing you there!
