Join in this summer adult book study for families with Children and Youth. Together, we'll explore author Cal Newport's philosophy of Digital Minimalism to intentionally choose technologies that enrich our lives and relationships and happily release those that do not. While this book does not discuss the implications of technology's influence on our faith, we will discuss how our Christian discipleship calls us to be intentional with our time, choose life-giving connections, and live into healthy rhythms of rest as individuals and families. Our time together will include discussion on helping our kids set boundaries with technology, healthy relationships in person and online, and how to prioritize what is most important among a sea of possible choices.
This study will meet 4 times on Zoom over the course of 8 weeks, giving you 2 weeks to read and think about the assigned chapters for each session. On weeks that we do not meet, Zach will send out short videos to spark discussion or mediation at home.
Meeting Times:
July 17 6:30-8:00pm
July 31 6:30-8:00pm
August 14 6:30-8:00pm
August 28 6:30-8:00pm
We encourage you to order a copy of the book yourself. Upon registering, you'll receive an email with links to where you can purchase the book. If needed, the church can order you a copy, then you can pay the church $16.
