Opportunity Details

When faced with any type of natural disaster, everything saved is precious. Items such as household cleaners to wipe away germs and mold, gloves to protect human hands while cleaning up the mud and muck, trash bags to contain articles that can’t be saved, and even insect repellent to prevent bites from mosquitoes, roaches, and fire ants are essential. As is providing basic necessities to those who are most vulnerable during these times of crisis.

This is where UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) and WE come in! Each year here at Williamsburg UMC, you can help us assemble UMCOR flood buckets. Last year we proudly packed and delivered 100 buckets to the local shipping station. Yours can be the hands through which Christ works with compassion in the world!

If you cannot be present for packing night, you can still make a difference! The budgeted cost of a Flood Bucket is $60.00. You can give to help offset the cost of procuring supplies via the church website or by dropping a donation by the church or in the offering plate.  Just be sure to list Flood Buckets in the memo line.
