Community and relationships depend upon making and keeping
promises to each other. All healthy relationships are, at least implicitly, a promise – to care for
each other, show up for each other, take time to be together, and more. In this sermon series we
will think about God’s promise to be faithful to us in Jesus Christ – and how we are called to
respond to that promise by making promises of our own – including the promise to care for each
other and our community by investing our lives in God’s work in and through our local church.
When we commit to supporting our church through our prayers, presence, gifts, service, and
witness (including through our financial giving), we are responding to God’s incredible promises
by making promises of our own, and we are trusting that God is the one who will give us strength
to fulfill those promises
