As the new school year approaches, let’s take a moment to celebrate the incredible progress of our covenant partner, the Abukloi School in South Sudan.
What began with just 45 students and 2 classrooms has blossomed into a vibrant educational hub, now serving over 650 students in 8 classrooms with the support of a dedicated 52-member staff.
This past year marked a significant milestone for Abukloi Secondary School as it celebrated its 10th anniversary and its 6th graduation!
The recent graduation was especially noteworthy, with 95 students—71 boys and 24 girls—receiving certificates of completion. In a remarkable achievement, every single graduate passed the national graduation exam, an accomplishment that is rarely achieved across South Sudan. This is the first time Abukloi has reached this level of academic excellence, a testament to the school’s commitment to quality education.
Abukloi’s mission extends beyond the classroom, as it continues to work closely with the Rumbek community to foster agricultural development, small-business training, and community empowerment. With the unwavering support of covenant partners like WUMC, we’re proving that together, we can achieve extraordinary things!
