Church Home
Strong “outward focus” is grounded in a strong church community. Click "COMMUNITY" below if you would like to volunteer for activities around our church home.
When you bring your experiences and abilities into the church, you’re like the aunt who brings the favorite dish at Thanksgiving. Without you, the meal just doesn’t feel complete! As we serve, we create deeper connections with God and each other. We discover our spiritual gifts, and we partner with God in blessing others.
Williamsburg UMC has serving opportunities for every personality, skill set, season, and schedule. No matter your age and stage of life, you bring something special to our church family. Sign up below to start serving in a specific area of ministry or, join us at Connect Classes to discover how God has uniquely wired you.

Spiritual gifts are specific ways the work of the Holy Spirit is manifested in our lives. These gifts — on top of our interests, abilities, hobbies, likes, and dislikes — join together to form who we are and how we participate in the work God is doing all around us. Some of us are good at hospitality. Others at serving. Still others at teaching or sharing their faith. Some of us like to be center stage, while others prefer to work in the background. That's all part of God's plan. At Williamsburg UMC we work to create opportunities for every member, regardless of age, to use their gifts. That way we share God's love not just at church, but at work, at school, and everywhere.
Not sure what spiritual gifts are? A classic list can be found in Paul's first letter to the Corinthians. You can also take a look at a more modern list here.
