  • As students grow and mature, we believe faith should grow and deepen with them. ReNEW Youth is designed to offer holistic faith formation for students in 6th-12th grade that connects our individual stories with God’s Story that is still unfolding. We study the Bible, learn spiritual practices, and respond through creative expression and intentional mission with our neighbors in Williamsburg and beyond.

Weekly Gatherings: Join us every Sunday from 12:30-2:00pm in the Youth Room for an exciting blend of faith, fun, and fellowship. We start by playing games and sharing a meal together before exploring a Bible story through study, creativity, prayer, and wondering how God is calling us to love our neighbors.

    About Our Speaker

Terri Morgan, a native of South Carolina, spent the 60s and 70s deeply rooted in the Methodist faith. Until she moved to Williamsburg in 1987, Terri led a nomadic existence, thanks to her dad’s career in the USAF and her own 28 years in the restaurant trade. After years without a church community, she felt a calling to connect with a worship family. In the late 90s, following a two-year exploration of various churches, she found her spiritual home at WUMC.

    Missions and Transformation

In March 2006, Terri, like many Americans, joined a mission team responding to the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Her team comprised 5 church members, 18 students from W&M and Randolph-Macon, and was led by Rev. David Hindman. Terri reflects, “Departing in total ignorance, but armed with faith, conviction, and exception of 2021, Terri has served on at least one team every year since. Describing these missions as “a series of fascinating adventures with disaster relief, construction, children’s ministry, and medical missions,” Terri will complete her 13th trip to Limon, Honduras, for medical missions with CHHF in March 2024. Terri emphasizes, “There is nothing unusual in this story - dozens of CHHF volunteers have returned every year for decades.”

There will be a full breakfast ($10 per person) served by the men of our church with all proceeds being donated to ministries. Please RSVP to hold your spot.

ALL ARE WELCOME to a churchwide Candle Burning Ceremony hosted by the Williamsburg United Women in Faith. This cherished event welcomes all with open arms, inviting you to bring your chairs and gather with us on the front lawn of Williamsburg United Methodist Church.

This is a time of reflection and reverence where we celebrate the lives of both those who have passed and those who are still with us. It is an occasion marked by gratitude and remembrance, in honor of and in memory of our friends and family.

We ask that you complete the form below and bring donations to the church by May 30th. With each donation of 60 cents, our candle will burn for one precious second, a poignant reflection of our memories and love.

For those wishing to further personalize this tribute, we welcome the opportunity to display photographs of the cherished individuals being honored or remembered. Simply indicate your preference on the below form.
